Founded in 2002, Global Surf Industries is one of the world's premier surfboard distribution companies. These boards are made in a state-of-the-art facility in Thailand. The company's production and quality standards are second to none, so don't assume you are getting an inferior product just because the price is so much lower than other brands produced stateside. This is a classic case of how producing in enormous quantities brings the price down for the consumer. The shapes are proven, the prices are great, and the graphics are not bad either. Yeah!

A note about GSI's new line, Anacapa: these boards are designed by Al Merrick of Channel Islands. Al is very aware of the ever-increasing cost of the modern surfboard, and his aim is to make the Anacapa line high in performance, but lower on price. By producing and distributing these boards thru GSI, and by keeping graphics minimal to lower cost, the consumer saves a few bucks. No concessions have been made with the product itself — Al wouldn't have it any other way. This should also be a testimate to the quality of the other board lines. Al wouldn't associate his name with a company churning out crap. While some boards produced overseas might be inferior, these boards are not.
