We're psyched to welcome Brad Kavonius, surfboard repair guru, to our Gorge crew.
Brad discovered his love for all things surfboard as a 15 year old punk hanging around the shaping studio of Art Colyer (North Pacific Surf) in Hood River. That was 14 years ago. Since then, Brad has learned and worked for the best in the industry, doing reparis and glass work for Morning Glass (Channel Island's glass shop), Tony Channin's glass shop under the tutelage of Master Randy Wong, where he didn't just learn the right way, he learned the Wong way. Channin does work for Bing, Eaton, Tudor and Walden to name a few. Brad learned his epoxy experience during a stint at Epoxy Pro, the authority on closed-cell foam custom epoxy surfboards.
Brad escaped back to Oregon a little over a year ago, but a call from Rusty P. with an offer he couldn't refuse Brad found himself back in So. Cal again. But after a year with Rusty, and some soul searching, Brad knew his true desire was to be back in the NW, and to make Portland his home.
Not just us at Gorge Performance, but ALL surfers in the area are lucky to have such talent at our disposal. Brad does all forms of board repair and he certainly loves a challenge. Stop by, or give him a call for a quote. You shan't be disappointed.
Editor's note: Brad's clearly no punk now, but he's certainly Punk. When not grinding and buffing for Gorge, he's bustin' out vocals for his punk band Rendered Useless.
