What We're Riding This Winter
This entry was posted on January 26, 2017.
The epic snow conditions of 2017 have not gone unnoticed by the crew at Gorge Performance. (Let's just say needing to get a shift covered on pow days has been fairly typical this winter.) We took a moment to ask the guys what equipment they are riding and wearing this season. These are their no BS picks that actually improve riding experience. If you have a question about gear or are thinking about making a change, these guys know their stuff.
Rory (16 days Riding this season)
"I give this stick the Rory's Choice Award. Very surfy and fun. Get on it and get tubed."
Smith I/0 Series
"Super good fit. Venting and anti-fog lenses make for clear vision. Really quick and easy lens change that does not require you to put yer filthy paws all over the face of the lens. Little clip in the back is is nice for getting goggle clean around clava and beanie and also works with helmet. Chroma pop lenses are unreal, especially (Chroma Pop Storm) for most Oregon days. Overall top quality product. No complaints."
"Fits is pretty dialed (I think particularly for larger footed individuals.) Conta grip sole is nice for schlepping around any short side country hiking needs. Speedlace makes it easy to get boots tight AF with no slippage. The boot gives the ankle the support of an ultra stiff aggressive boot while remaining pretty playful and comfortable for park type riding. Styled like an Italian supermodel. Fit awesome in Burton, Salomon, Flux bindings."
Oz (26 days riding this season)
"Has a nice medium flex that is perfect for learning new jump and rail tricks. The flex isn't too soft so you can still put down the landing gear, but not too stiff that you can press on rails. The rock out camber profile makes it catch free on the sides but it still holds an edge on ice."
Ricky (6 days riding this season)
"Super fun pow board that rips groomers and slush well too. With the new spooned out nose and tail, it floats like a dream but can also lay down some serious carves. It's an all mountain surf machine."
Cole (43 days riding this season)
"This is a super basic binding that will take anything you throw at it. From deep days to park, this binding does not disappoint."
"By far the most bomb proof jacket I've rode. It will keep ya dry warm and lookin good."
