Assistant Manager/Retail Associate

Overview: The Assistant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the retail floor, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service and sales performance.

Responsibilities:

STAFFING

-Supervise retail staff, providing leadership, feedback and guidance
-Assist with hiring, training and onboarding new employees, ensuring they are well-versed in company policies and procedures
-Assist in staff scheduling ensuring all shifts are covered including opening and closing duties by key holders.

PLANNING/STRATEGY

-Create and maintain a visually appealing and organized store layout
-Ensure sound inventory management
-Monitor Inventory levels and ensuring stock is always available to meet customer demand

DAILY

-Opening and Closing Duties including daily cash management
-Create and monitor daily list of responsibilities for employees
-Assist customers in identifying and purchasing appropriate gear based on preferences, skill level and budget
-Execute retail transactions
-Provide knowledgeable information to customers on multiple sports (Surf, Snow, Skate, SUP) This is a non-commissioned sales position.We are more concerned with helping customers find what they need. We offer expertise first and foremost.
-Resolve customer complaints and ensure customer satisfaction
-Assist with e-commerce transactions (product identification, packing, shipping)

SHOP/WAREHOUSE

-Initial set-ups for snowboards and surfboards
-Repairs & waxing snowboards
-Unpack, unbox and check in product
-Maintenance of the shop: includes cleaning, recycling and frequent movement of product over 40lbs.

Qualifications:

-Experience in a retail operations role
-Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
-Proficiency in sales and customer service
-Understanding of inventory management and merchandising
-Familiarity with POS systems
-Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and constant standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, bending carrying items, and reaching overhead; comfortable climbing ladders.

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
